Many have asked how to be a part of the Centre College VP Debate. Please see the announcement below asking for volunteers for the big event!
The Danville-Boyle County Convention and Visitors Bureau is seeking volunteers to work hospitality tables at Danville area hotels for the Vice-Presidential Debate. Hospitality tables will be set up starting on Sunday, October 7th and will run through the day of the debate on Thursday, October 11th. Each of these days, shifts run from 8 AM- 12 PM and 4 PM-8 PM.
Hospitality volunteers will be responsible for welcoming visitors, giving directions, sharing information, and generally being of assistance to guests. All hospitality volunteers must commit to attending one of three training sessions on either Sunday, Sept. 23rd at 2:30 PM, Monday, Sept. 24th at 1 PM, or Sunday, Sept. 30th at 2:30 PM. In addition, this will not be an opportunity to hand out political buttons, material, or to be partisan. The goal is to be helpful, friendly, and welcoming of all guests for the debate.
Danville will need many volunteers for this effort. Please contact the Danville-Boyle County Convention and Visitors Bureau at 859-236-7794 as soon as possible.
Finally, if you cannot volunteer, everyone is invited to the Centre College Debate Festival which will be held on the Centre College lawn the day of the debate starting at noon. There will be various musical performances throughout the afternoon and the Vice-Presidential debate will be broadcast live on a large screen. Please do not miss out on the opportunity to take part in the excitement. Plan on being in Danville on 10/11/12!
