Despite the tornadoes across the Commonwealth, Young Democrats from across the state of Kentucky came together in Marion County in March for yet another successful Kentucky Young Democrats Convention. Many notable guests joined the festivities, including Kentucky Democratic Party Chair Dan Logsdon, Governor Julian Carroll, State Representative Terry Mills of House District 24, State Representative Kelly Flood from House District 75, State Senator Dennis Parrett of Senate District 10, Marion County PVA Terry "Catfish" Rakes, Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes, Obama 2012 Kentucky State DIrector Keidra King, House Speaker Greg Stumbo, and Judge Joe Mattingly. A friendly community service competition between chapters to collect items for the Caring Place, a local center for abused women, yielded many donations-- thanks to those who participated. The KYDs also thank the Marion County Democratic Party and host chapter Marion County Young Democrats for their support. See you next year!
