Information to volunteer for Primary Candidates: Now is the time to get involved!

Dear Young Democrat Brothers and Sisters,

What an exciting time to be a Democrat in Kentucky: we are only a little more than a month away from the May 17 Democratic primary! While the Kentucky Young Democrats does not endorse in primaries, our newly elected executive committee wants to encourage all Kentucky Young Democrats to get involved in the primary and show that young people in Kentucky are fired up about the democratic process.

Here is a list of the Democrats running for statewide office this year and information about how you can get involved:

First Lady Jane Beshear and Madeline Abramson will be at NKY on Tuesday, April 12, from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. for a casual luncheon reception at the Sutton/Rankin Law Firm (130 Dudley Road, Suite  250, Edgewood  Kentucky).

West Kentucky Star-News: Grimes, Hollenbach and Wilson Top Straw Poll

HENDERSON, KY - At their 2011 annual state convention, held in Henderson on March 25-26, the Kentucky Young Democrats held a candidate forum for all the contested Democratic Primary races. At the conclusion of the convention, those members in attendance were polled on their candidate preferences for the offices of Secretary of State, State Treasurer and Commissioner of Agriculture. 

This straw poll produced the following results:

Secretary of State:
68% - Alison Lundergan Grimes
32% - Elaine Walker

Join the Pulaski County YD's on April 16!

The Pulaski County Young Democrats will be holding a cookout fundraiser on Saturday, April 16th from 1-4 pm at Pulaski County Park (right off of Route 80 in Nancy) to help fund their "get out the vote" efforts in the fall. There will be a $5 minimum donation per person but additional donations will be appreciated! Special guests include State Representative Terry Mills (D-Pulaski, Casey, Marion), and all candidates running in the May primaries have been invited.
