Convention sneak peak
Dear YDs,
In one week, many of you will descend upon Lebanon, Marion County, Kentucky for the annual KYD convention. On behalf of my community and Marion County Young Democrats, we welcome you and are extremely honored and excited to host this year’s convention!
Now, before you can descend upon the Heart of Kentucky, you have to register! There’s only one day left to register for the KYD State Convention, March 2-4, for the low price of $35 before the price goes up! Registration includes a hotel room for Friday and Saturday nights, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and dinner on Saturday.
A sneak peak….
You will get to hear from several different speakers including the Director for the Obama campaign for Kentucky, Secretary of State and YD Alison Lundergan-Grimes, State Auditor and YD Adam Edelen, and many others! Some of the things that will be discussed are: how to get involved in 2012 campaigns, policy, and speakers will talk about their times in KYD. If that’s not enough, we will even be visiting local distilleries, Limestone Branch and Maker’s Mark, for personalized tours!
There are so many great speakers, workshops, and activities planned for convention weekend, and we want you to be a part of it!
Register, travel to the Heart of Kentucky and come feel the beat!

Important convention information
Young Democrats,
Great news- we are extending the $35.00 early bird special for convention registration until February 22! Register here now!
As a reminder, award nominations are due by February 24 and may be sent to Lauren Ingram at lauren@kyyoungdems.com. Please take some time to nominate an outstanding chapter or individual. You may also email her with photos from your chapter to be included in the convention slide show.
We are also now offering a great opportunity for you or your chapter to advertise at convention. You may purchase an ad in the convention booklet at the low price of $25 for 1/4 page, and $50 for 1/2 page here. Ads are due no later than March 1st.
Finally, if you have any proposed amendments to the KYD Charter & Bylaws they should be submitted in writing to the Convention Rules Chair prior to the convening of the Rules Committee Meeting on Saturday morning. Please address any questions to Clint Morris at clint@kyyoungdems.com.

Convention registration now open
Young Democrats,
Registration is now open for the 2012 KYD State convention in Lebanon, KY on March 2-4. Special early bird ticket prices are available until February 15th for only $35.00 which includes:
- Hotel room for Friday and Saturday at the Lebanon Hampton Inn.
- Appetizers on Friday evening, and dinner on Saturday evening. The hotel provides free continental breakfast every morning, and coffee and snacks will be available throughout the convention.

Don’t forget, you must be a member of a chartered county chapter to cast votes in elections. If you are interested in being selected as a voting delegate for your chapter, please contact your chapter president.
